India says yes

IT IS ALMOST CERTAIN that India will tour the Caribbean next year for four Tests.

West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) president Dave Cameron confirmed yesterday that the tour would almost certainly go ahead.

Speaking by telephone from Mumbai, Cameron told the DAILY NATION that the hierarchy of the WICB and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had “cordial and fruitful discussions” for nearly two hours at the BCCI offices over the weekend.

 Only Tests will be played in the Caribbean next year with the Indians returning in 2017 for five One-Day Internationals (ODIs).

The split tours are likely to be more beneficial financially to the board than a single full tour.
