POLICE PRESENCE on pleasure boats will have to be beefed up, says Commissioner of Police Tyrone Griffith.

During a press conference at the police headquarters on Roebuck Street, The City, yesterday, he said owners of the pleasure crafts also had a responsibility to provide security for their clients.

His comments came in light of the June 10 fatal shooting of Dave Archer, 32, of West Terrace, St James. He was working security and was shot after the MV Dream Chaser came ashore at Screw Docks. In addition, several videos making the rounds on social media capture fights that break out on pleasure crafts while on the high seas. (AC)
