A SENSELESS KILLING. That’s how neighbours have described the murder of 59-year-old Brinsley Warde, who was fatally stabbed on Friday night in The City.

It took well over 24 hours before police were able to get a positive identification of the body as Warde, a Guyanese resident here for more than a decade, was said by neighbours to have been a very quiet law-abiding person who kept a low profile.

Lawmen had appealed to the public to come forward and identify the body.

Warde, affectionately known as “Nut Butter”, lived at Chase Gap, Halls Road, St Michael. He was fatally stabbed at nearby Nursery Drive. No motive has been given by police.
