Agard won’t recognise new branch executive

EMBATTLED Christ Church West representative Dr Maria Agard will  not be recognising the newly elected executive  of her branch.

She made her position known yesterday when she called Starcom Network’s call-in programme Brass Tacks.

Admitting that she and the executive have had differences since 2010, Agard, a dentist, said the next step was to take the matter to the Barbados Labour Party’s (BLP) National Council.

Responding to questions from moderator David Ellis, Agard, who boycotted last Sunday’s meeting to choose an executive, after the process was halted by Opposition Leader Mia Mottley on September 20, maintained that the abrupt suspension of the meeting was wrong.

She however admitted that she has had differences with members of her executive.

“If I am going to be brutally frank with you, I am going to say that this difference stemmed way back to the nomination of 2010, when another candidate and myself faced the branch for the opportunity to carry the Barbados Labour Party’s flag in the 2013 election.
