Principals seek help on dress code

PRIMARY SCHOOL PRINCIPALS appear to be united on the need for a dress code for parents to stamp out inappropriate dress among those who visit schools to conduct business.

The subject reportedly took up a large portion of time at a meeting of the Association of Public Primary School Principals (APPSP) at Erdiston Teachers’ Training College yesterday morning.

President Ivan Clarke said they came to the consensus the matter should be taken up with officials of the Ministry of Education and possibly with the Attorney General at the earliest possible opportunity.

The standard of dress or lack thereof is a hot topic and some of the principals who remained after the meeting shared some of their experiences and their attempts to deal with the problem at their schools.
