WHERE IS THE FILE?

That is the burning question from the mother of  a 21-year-old woman allegedly raped six years ago by a 56-year-old man who has not faced criminal proceedings because police say they have no file on the matter.

The upset mother told the WEEKEND NATION that she and her daughter, who was a 15-year-old special needs student of the Learning Centre at the time, have been going to the District “A” Magistrates’ Court “religiously” for the past six years only to hear on each occasion that the police had no file.

When contacted, Acting Police Public Relations Officer Roland Cobbler reported that the girl did make a complaint against the man in 2009 at the Black Rock Police Station and he was subsequently charged with one count of rape and one count of indecent assault.
