THE SAIL-MAKING trade is reportedly a very tough venture, but Doyle Offshore Sails is managing to stay afloat.
Sales manager Joanne Lammens said one of their strongest markets was in the Caribbean, followed by North America.
Lammens said the strong, durable and almost “bulletproof” material used was a unique feature of the company located in the Six Roads Industrial Park, St Philip.
“We are one of the only Doyle offices that make these types of sails so we have a very niche market with the sun, wind and other elements; so here in the Caribbean our sails have to be very strong.”
He was speaking during a tour of the facility by Minister of Industry, Commerce and Small Business Development, Donville Inniss, last Friday.
