Today Barbadians will see for the first time the main players in the latest political party – the People’s Party For Democracy and Development.
In revealing the name for the first time publicly to the Saturday Sun, founding member and Leader of the Opposition Bishop Joseph Atherley said key members and positions will be disclosed at a press conference this morning at the Pavilion, Hastings, Christ Church.
Atherley, who broke away from the ruling Barbados Labour Party (BLP) just a week after its sweeping victory in May 2018 to become Opposition Leader, said planning for the party had been taking place over the last nine months with regular Thursday meetings.
The management committee, along with the logo of the party, will also be revealed.
Earlier yesterday, Atherley was the guest of Starcom’s radio call-in programme Brass Tacks where he fielded questions from the public and moderator and station manager David Ellis. (AC)
