BARBADIAN SCHOOLCHILDREN have an oppportunity to enhance their social skills as a result of a partnership between the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Barbados (CFFB).
The linkage will see students engaged in a wide range of skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, management of emotions, conflict resolution, and social and citizenship skills, and will be part of the Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence (CCLSC) programme administered under CXC.
The goal behind the foundation’s involvement is to promote a healthy attitude towards the less fortunate.
CXC registrar Glenroy Cumberbatch, speaking recently at the CFFB presentation to students who volunteered for the programme at the Yacht Club, Bay Street, St Michael, said Barbados had a high level of educated people but an equally high level of unemployed young people.
