Police issue statement on Eversley murder investigation

THE ROYAL Barbados Police Force today expressed concern about what it termed “misinformation” being publicised in the media about the investigation into the murder of Melanise Eversley.

The full statement follows:

“The Royal Barbados Police Force is very concern as to the misinformation being publicised in the print media, electronic media and in online blogs regarding the investigation into the murder of Melanise Eversley which occurred on September 3rd, 2015 at Jordans, St George.

The Force emphatically denies the following:

It is regrettable that such misguided information could be put out for public consumption.

As a professional Police Force, we remain committed to our tasks; such misinformation has the potential to discredit the Force and tarnish the reputation of members.

The Commissioner and members of the Force stand in support of those officers and members of the public who are victims of crime. 

We continue to appeal to the public to provide us with information to assist in solving this heinous crime or any other unsolved crimes.  The public is encouraged to telephone Police Hotline 429-8787 of Crime Stoppers Barbados at 1-800 TIPS (8477).  The information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence.” (PR)
