Man charged with firearm and drug offences

A ST JAMES man has been remanded to prison on firearm and drug charges after appearing in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

He is 42-year-old Ronald Alexander White of Husbands Development.

Police say officers were conducting traffic checks in Black Rock, St Michael on Friday when they stopped a vehicle in which White was a front seat passenger.

He was searched and a .45 automatic pistol and 33 grammes of cannabis were allegedly found.

White was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply and having a trafficable quantity.

He will return to court on September 21. (PR/NB)
