Pinelands get even

So too are the champs in these finals.

The best-of-five series is now a race to three, as Orange 3 Pinelands survived two potential game-tying jumpers in the last seconds to level the Co-operators General Insurance Premier League basketball finals via Sunday’s 59-56 Game 2 win over Pan American International Insurance Warrens.

It certainly wasn’t the prettiest of victories at the Wildey Gym for the reigning league kings, even after they welcomed back their leading scorer and playmaker, who sat out Game 1 with an ailing left shoulder. But they’ll take it all the same, especially considering Gill was a shadow of himself while playing limited minutes and clearly favouring that bandaged tendon.
