1 365 students fail to turn up for exams

ONE THOUSAND, three hundred and sixty-five students entered for the exams but failed to write them.

And Minister of Education Ronald Jones is raising the alarm over the high number of subject entries not taken in the Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence (CCSLC) examination.

“I am concerned when I see statistics which show 1 365 subject entries were not taken by our students. They are paid for and CXC does not refund, so therefore that is a challenge,” he said.

Jones was speaking yesterday at the annual release of CXC results, held in CXC headquarters, Prince Road, Pine Plantation Road, St Michael.
