MEMBERS OF THE public will have their last chance to share their opinion on the future of housing in Barbados, at the final two community meetings on Habitat III.

The meetings will be held on Sunday, August 16, at the Princess Margaret Secondary School, Six Roads, St Philip, and Wednesday, August 19, in the hall of the Christ Church Parish Church Centre, Church Hill, Christ Church. Both meetings will be held from 5.30 to 7 p.m.

The Habitat III community meetings provide persons with an opportunity to voice their concerns on the current trends impacting housing, transport and infrastructure in urban and rural Barbados. Minister of Housing, Lands and Rural Development, Denis Kellman, will also give brief remarks.

The event will be live streamed at www.mrd.gov.bb and people may also email their questions to [email protected].

Public input will go towards the Habitat III proposal, which will initially plan the next 20 years in urban and rural development in Barbados. A team from Barbados will present these plans at Habitat III, a major global summit to be held in Quito, Ecuador, from October 17 to 20, 2016. (BGIS)
