A CENTURY from Nico Reifer was in vain as Nicholls Baking Combermere romped to their fourth consecutive LIME Barbados Cricket Association Under-15 title yesterday at the Desmond Haynes Oval.

Reifer scored a battling 121 off 191 balls as he led Queen’s College to 178-9 declared to set Combermere 143 runs to win. Combermere replied with 90 without loss before Queen’s College conceded the game 13 minutes before the scheduled end of play.

Matthew Forde ended unbeaten on 63 while fellow opener Seth Agard was on 23 not out.

It was a bittersweet victory for Combermere as earlier in the day former principal Dorien Pile died at her home. Pile was the school’s first female principal and an avid follower of Combermere’s cricket teams.
