RAIN stopped what was shaping up to be an entertaining opening day of the LIME Barbados Cricket Association’s Under-15 final between Combermere and Queen’s College at the Desmond Haynes Oval yesterday.
Just one ball was bowled in the Combermere innings before a downpour left the outfield soggy and the run-up wet. Play was eventually called off around 3:45 p.m.
Combermere, the three-time defending champions, won the toss and sent Queen’s College in to bat first and they made 129 for 5 in their 35 overs. Nico Reifer led the way for Queen’s College with a well played 65 while Kai Rollins, Indal Persaud and Matthew Forde all got one wicket each.
