Success due to ‘high AAB standards’

TRACK AND FIELD has been riding a wave of success this year and one sports administrator is praising the structure for its resurgence.

Former president of the Athletics Association of Barbados, Esther Maynard, told NATION SPORTS that the combination of setting high qualification standards and a stable management structure has ensured that Barbadian athletes are once again doing well at the senior level.

“The whole support structure and the whole management structure that was put in place by the Athletics Association of Barbados has led to this. Plus we have had 11 or 12 years of great stability and transparency and dedication within the athletics association, thanks to a lot people like the Barbados Olympic Association,” said Maynard.
