Warrens hold off Cavs

IT WASN’T HIS BEST, but Andre Lockhart was just good enough.

Quite like his new team.

Pan American International Insurance Warrens have gone one up, but only barely, as Pearson Griffith had to score a late put-back to hold off Station Hill in Thursday’s 67-64 Game 1 win of the Co-operators General Insurance Premier League basketball play-offs at the Wildey Gym.

It proved quite the dramatic finish to a much-hyped opener that deserved nothing less following a series of big plays from both sides down the stretch.

Yet the biggest of those plays was probably the least memorable, as Griffith’s basket went by largely unnoticed after it didn’t actually go through the hoop.
