PIT TOILETS and sub-standard housing in Bridgetown’s depressed residential areas were primary issues aired at a community meeting at the Queen’s Park Steel Shed on Tuesday night.
The Ministry of Housing, Lands and Rural Development invited the public to share concerns and give suggestions at a series of community meetings, as Barbados prepares to participate in the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development next year.
At the first meeting Tuesday, Chief Town Planner Mark Cummins and Minister of Housing, Lands and Rural Development Denis Kellman got an earful from a diverse group of speakers who were most vocal in their submissions.
