THE Barbados Football Association’s cadre of match officials received a long-awaited boost of youth as 28 new referees graduated from the inaugural Schools’ Referee Development Programme.
At yesterday’s graduation ceremony at the Wildey Gymnasium, the secondary school students were lauded for their commitment to the course and their aptitude to the job of refereeing.
The students were trained over an intense three days from November 6 to 8. Theoretical sessions in the laws of the game and video analysis were held at the Wildey Gymnasium and they also took part in practical sessions at the nearby Wildey Turf. (NM)
