AG’s call to victims of sex trade

GOVERNMENT IS encouraging people to speak out about human trafficking – even if their immigration status is questionable.

“In particular, victims who are non-Barbadians can be assured that the Government of Barbados will uphold its national and international responsibilities and will give them the support necessary,” Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite said yesterday while addressing the final in a series of conferences on confronting sexual exploitation staged by the Women of Purpose Ministry.

“They need not be afraid to come forward . . . . We will ensure that they’re protected. Even if your immigration status is questionable, I’m saying, do not let that prevent you from seeking the support of the Government of Barbados.” (TY)
