THE ATTORNEY for a former employee of KPMG Services Ltd admitted yesterday that given the evidence from principals of the company, it was unlikely that her client would be rehired.
Therefore, Jewel Garner has urged the Employment Rights Tribunal (ERT) to award Joel Leacock approximately $76 000 in compensation after finding that KPMG had unfairly dismissed him.
However, attorney for KPMG Sherica Mohammed-Cumberbatch said Leacock was let go after the company had given him chance after chance and had satisfied all the terms and conditions of his contract.
“KPMG is not in the business of firing people,” she asserted.
