THE SIDESHOW of the National Championships on Saturday provided a big upset.

CARIFTA starlet and Austin Sealy Trophy awardee, Mary Fraser, was beaten into second spot by her cousin Elizabeth Williams in the women’s 1 500 metres open at the National Stadium.

Fraser, running unattached, finished the journey in 4.42.86 minutes. Akeilia Knight, another unattached athlete, was third in 4.54.20.
