Teach youth early about culture

HALF MOON FORT’S Primary School’s recent celebration of its own special Culture Day has been held up an example to other schools.

Officials of the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) were on hand at the St Lucy school to make this point and press home the importance of instilling an appreciation for cultural traditions among the very young.

“Our culture is what makes us who we are and the earlier this is recognised the more efforts we can make as a community to differentiate us from other developing nations like ourselves. So why not start with our little ones?” said Stacia Bryan, festival and event planner with the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) and the producer of this year’s Junior Kadooment.
