Latapy: Grab your chances

Head coach Russell Latapy wants Barbados Tridents to be more clinical.

Speaking after the Tridents suffered a tough 1-0 defeat against Saint Martin in their Concacaf Nations League encounter at the Raymond E. Guishard Technical Centre in Anguilla on Saturday evening, Latapy said his players needed to take advantage of the chances they created.

The Bajans began the game positively but as time and chances wore thin, Saint Martin capitalised and struck with ten minutes left to play through Yannick Chevalier.

Latapy named an attacking and much-changed line-up from Barbados’ previous game. Armando Lashley and captain Rashad Jules flanked forwards Nick Blackman and Hallam Hope, while Raheim Sargeant and Jomo Harris were deployed in central midfield.

“We started really organised but in terms of getting results we still have to be more clinical. We were good from the back to the middle and created chances, but we weren’t successful in taking them,” Latapy said post-match.(NM)
