THE BARBADOS Workers’ Union (BWU) and the Barbados Light  & Power Company  Limited (BL&P) still have differences to settle  on a cost-cutting exercise at the electricity company after another round  of talks yesterday.

The discussions  were held under the chairmanship of Acting Chief Labour Officer (CLO) Victor Felix at the  BWU’s Harmony Hall,  St Michael headquarters.

Leader of the BWU delegation, veteran unionist Sir Roy Trotman, appeared optimistic.

“The next step is that the company will get back in touch with the acting CLO and if they are acting in good faith, we will have another meeting where  I am of the view that we should be able to remove several of the outstanding issues and, hopefully, bring the thing to closure,” he told the NATION.
