THE BAJAN TRIDENTS have advanced to the next round of the FIFA 2018 World Cup football qualifying after beating Aruba 1-0 at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex tonight.
A lone strike by 19-year-old Hadan Holligan in the 79th minute was enough to secure the victory for Barbados, who also won the first leg 2-0 in Aruba.
In other matches played tonight, Antigua and Barbuda also advanced after beating St Lucia 4-1.
Curacao also advanced on away goals after a 1-1 draw with Cuba. The first leg was tied 0-0.
Belize are through to the next round with a 5-1 aggregate on Dominican Republic and St Vincent and the Grenadines advanced on away goals after a 4-4 draw with Guyana. Both teams drew 2-2 on the first leg. (SAT)
