School gets boost from Sugar Cane

IT WAS AN EXTRA special morning assembly at the Roland Edwards Primary on Monday when the St Peter school received more than $1 200 worth of supplies from Sugar Cane Club Hotel and Spa.

The hotel’s manager Peter Charles, who led a team making the presentation, said the “small donation” to the school which it had adopted represented contributions made by guests “to our hotel towards community- based projects”.

“There is an organisation called Pack For a Purpose’ which is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit organisation based in Raleigh, North Carolina which was founded in 2009 by Rebecca Rothney and a small team . . . providing travellers with specific needs lists for communities around the world that are supported by lodgings and tour companies affiliated with . . . Sun Tours,” Charles explained.
