More green for Lester Vaughan

YESTERDAY WAS OBSERVED as World Environment Day and numerous activities were held across the island.

At The Lester Vaughan School a variety of trees was planted on the school’s grounds. The  hope is that the Neem trees which were presented by the Young Democrats, youth arm of the ruling Democratic labour Party, will enhance the school’s surroundings when they mature.

President of the Young Democrats, Curtis Cave,  said his organisation  was committed to ensuring that Barbados continues to practise sound environmental polices and programmes.

The brief  ceremony was witnessed by the school’s principal, Captain Michael Boyce, while a number of students from the Environmental Club participated. (RL)
