JUST AFTER 10 a.m. the first band left Silver Sands to get the second staging of Christ Church Carnival underway.
It lacked the organisation of the first year as the numbers in the bands were significantly smaller.
This year, Christ Church East Trailblazers, Masqueraded Fantasies and the combined band comprising Strikers, Below Rock Jammers and Boozers Entertainment took to the road.

There were more spectators lining the street than revellers when Carnival got underway and many expressed disappointment with the low turnout.
After a pause by Roy Smith’s shop and the arrival of the big music truck, the party finally got underway in the rain. (SAT)
