Deal on table for the haulers

SEVERAL “WORKABLE SOLUTIONS” are now on the table and it is expected that a resolution could be achieved within two weeks, but in the interim the protest by members of the Waste Haulers Association continues.

A contingent from the group met with Minister of the Environment Dr Denis Lowe at his Warrens, St Michael office yesterday for just over three hours, but at the end of those talks, the situation with collection remained unchanged.

Spokesman Charles Read, who addressed the media after the meeting, said: “[We] touched on a range of subjects. I guess we ventilated issues and we had a good discussion. At this point we’re moving to a workable solution.
