THE ELEGANT HOTELS GROUP in Barbados is going public and planning expansion of the brand into the Caribbean.

The company, which operates Colony Club, The Tamarind, The House and Crystal Cove Hotels on the West Coast as well as Turtle Beach Hotel in the South, is preparing for a big public launch later this month in England.

It has already raised a whopping £63 million (BDS$199.26 million) and the Elegant Hotels Group is expected to start trading on AIM, a market operated by the London Stock Exchange on May 26.

And in a recently published public notice, the group, which is chaired by Simon Sherwood with Sunil Chatrani its chief executive officer, said under the placement, 30.80 million shares would be sold.
