The skies were dry but goals still rained down as Wotton kept their Capelli Cup hopes alive in spectacular fashion with an 8-1 drubbing of Fitts Village in their Group B football clash on Tuesday at the Wildey Turf.

The result all but confirmed elimination for Fitts Village, who were at the receiving end of another bruising 8-1 defeat last Thursday from Paradise, who were also in action on Tuesday and secured a narrow 4-3 victory over a spirited Youth Milan.

Wotton’s No. 9, Khalil Gill, put his side ahead in clinical fashion in the ninth minute with a superb hit after losing his marker.

Captain Reco “Sas” Baptiste scored his second of the tournament and Wotton’s second in the 28th minute after bullying the last defender to score unencumbered past goalkeeper Kyle Smith while Aqiyl Cumberbatch made it 3-0 in the 41st minute. (NM)
