Ganja fashion in plain sight

A NEW FASHION trend seems to be making its way across Barbados.

At just about every major event in recent months people have been sporting different pieces of clothing and accessories with a very distinctive feature from a plant that is illegal in Barbados.

Increasingly people are carrying marijuana on their persons, but they have been getting away with it.

A day seldom goes by without a local or non-national having to answer to drug charges, which can include trafficking, possession, possession with intent to supply, importation, attempting to export, acts proprietary and cultivation. Wearing is apparently not an offence under the law. (YB)
