EVERTON RANDOLPH GITTENS, the first cop charged with murder, has a special cell at Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds.

The former Drug Squad officer is on maximum security and out of the reach of the regular prison population that includes known drug lords and their so-called “soldiers”, who authorities fear could use the opportunity to exact revenge, a senior prison source disclosed last night.

Gittens, 43, had failed, an hour after he was automatically remanded by a magistrate on the charge of murdering Selwyn “Blues” Knight, to convince the High Court to grant him bail.

And as Gittens was fated to spend a month in prison awaiting trial, Knight’s widow Marleen tearfully said she wanted “justice in every way”. (Coastline Communication)
