Drive against tobacco use

City shoppers got a surprise treat yesterday from stiltwalkers and actors of the Pinelands Creative Workshop.Accompanying their treat was a message from the National Council on Substance Abuse (NCSA) to observe tomorrrow as World No Tobacco Day.NCSA’s programme officer Makeada Greenidge explained: “We wanted to use a different type of activity to capture attention and pique curiosity.”The stiltwalkers and actors handed out information about the ills of tobacco.The Ministry of Health, the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the youth arm of the Barbados Workers’ Union were involved in the marketing effort.
