Combermere knock out Alleyne

Defending champions Alleyne School were bounced out of the Barbados Secondary Schools’ Netball League’s Under-13 Competition on Tuesday evening at the Netball Stadium.
Combermere defeated Alleyne 14-1 to set up  a semi-final meeting with Foundation next Tuesday. Donika Payne scored nine goals from 14 attempts  and Under-16 national Sheniqua Thomas added  five from seven attempts at goal-attack.
Alleyne were limited to one attempt throughout the match which was scored by Jada Edwards.
Coreene Gittens scored five goals from seven attempts and Sasha Bryan three from five in Foundation’s 8-5 victory over Garrison, who tried  three shooters. Ashantia Phillips scored two goals  and Nyasha Williams three.
On the other side of the draw, it will be a Springer Memorial and Lester Vaughan match-up. Springer dismissed The Lodge 18-1, while Lester Vaughan  beat Coleridge and Parry 10-4.
Khadija Domingo was a perfect 11 and Shanice Evelyn seven from 10 for Springer, while Danae Hill scored The Lodge’s sole attempt.
For Lester Vaughan, Shanika Bullen scored seven from eight and Tachina Young three from nine, while Rachika Haynes scored three goals for Coleridge and Parry, and Shanice Jackman added the other.
The Under-15 quarter-finals will be played today from 3:15 p.m. (SAT)
