ENTREPRENEUR Trevor Batson has unveiled a marketing and advertising plan that he thinks will create job opportunities for school leavers. At a Press conference at Discovery Bay Hotel yesterday morning, Batson said all 22 secondary schools were involved in his plan to create job opportunities through business services for school leavers. He said that two of his initiatives, Home Ownership Made Easy (HOME) and Schools Community Tourism Education (SCTE), were coming together to set the stage for an exposition: HOME 246 XPO.Batson said the plan was to create and develop sustainable jobs through the use of technology.HOME 246 XPO will be the road map for creating hands-on job experience for school leavers. Batson, who over the years has developed the unique technique of using acronyms as an educational tool, said the 246 XPO would be held at the end of each school year on “24.6” (June 24).The SCTE jobs project initiative is for school leavers with fewer than five CXCs. He said they should be selected by schools based on discipline, creativity and innovation. Training will be for six weeks on the job. Selected and prospective nominees would write their profiles with a business proposal idea of 550 words, and an illustration on the allocated business name and website, explaining how they would make it work as a job for them.
