POPULAR animation character Shrek will stage a live 90-minute show each day with his best friend Donkey, his love Princess Fiona, and a bevy of dancers on the grounds of Ilaro Court this weekend. In a show entitled A Trek with Shrek, the cast will portray hard-working costumed characters who go on a journey to a place where they discover that everyone is “the same no matter how different we are”, say the organisers. The 6 p.m. production is part of the spectacle of Fun Mania Land on Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. Fun Mania Land is a unique setting where parents can shop for products and services for their families while spending quality time together. Featuring action-packed activities, interactive booths, dynamic entertainment, and a variety of food and games, the event will also offer Carnival City fun rides, bouncing castles and a lemonade stall, while the shopping village will feature a farmer’s market of local produce. Another attraction is the Battle Of The Schools dance contest involving five schools: Combermere, Ellerslie, The St Michael, Foundation and The Lodge, at 4 p.m. on Sunday. (PR)
