Twenty-year-old Danielle Bishop’s broad, bright smile and confident strut captured the hearts and tallies of the judges on Sunday at the Plantation Garden Theatre to win the Miss Barbados World title for 2010.
The 5-foot, 7-inch beauty, draped in Angelic Love Is Beauty, a Shakira Walcott-Smith-designed gown, exuded a grace and poise unmatched by any of the four other contestants. She also won Miss Congeniality.
First runner-up was 18-year-old Barbados National Bank customer service rep Simonne Coppin, who added Best Gown and Best Swimwear to her cache of prizes for the night.
Second runner-up was 20-year-old student Chaconia Griffith, who also won Miss Photogenic, Best Talent, Haute Couture, and Most Promising Contestant.
