Cops probing Gabby, Admiral row

POLICE ARE investigating the circumstances surrounding an altercation between new Calypso Monarch Anthony Gabby Carter and Festival Stage host Anthony Admiral Nelson last Sunday night at Kensington Oval during Cohobblopot.Shortly after the altercation, Admiral told the DAILY NATION he was having a conversation with someone backstage about the finals and Gabby’s song Ole Ashe.The radio announcer said Gabby came over and challenged him about his intention to speak to the issue on the next edition of Festival Stage, which is broadcast on the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation.When contacted yesterday, Gabby said he did not want to comment on the matter.Police public relations officer Inspector David Welch confirmed that Admiral had made a report to the Central Police Station about an alleged assault which occurred around 9:30 p.m.Welch also said Gabby turned up at the station later that same night, accompanied by a lawyer to make a complaint.
