CONSULTANT UROLOGIST Dr Jerry Emtage is still carrying out his work at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH).Attorney-at-law Ralph Thorne QC, who is defending Emtage in a court injunction against the QEH for an alleged breach of contract, said his client was still on duty treating his patients.“I am obligated to inform those persons connected to Mr Emtage’s patients at the QEH that having appeared in the High Court on Thursday, August 12, 2010, Mr  Emtage’s employment as a Consultant continues uninterrupted and he is on duty attending to all patients under his care at the hospital,” Thorne said.Emtage and consultant radiologist Dr Cecil Rambarat, who was let go by the hospital board last Wednesday, are the key figures in a dispute which has led to the Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners (BAMP) taking industrial action with its doctors only responding to emergency cases at the QEH.
