IT’S BULLS-CAVS part three.Basketball’s women’s final is starting to become dreadfully predictable.Toni Atherley had 20 of her game-high 23 points through the first three quarters as Act II Popcorn Clapham Bulls booked their third straight finals appearance after sweeping Tigers in Saturday’s 80-55 Game 2 rout at the Barbados Community College.The game was a mere formality ahead of the anticipated Bulls-Cavs series, which was never in danger even when centre Shakira Shorey failed to take the floor in the first half.Despite surrendering the contest’s first four points, Clapham quickly opened up a 19-9 lead seven minutes in and never led by less than double digits.Tigers forward/centre Denise Alleyne took advantage of Shorey’s absence, scoring 11 points in the ensuing second quarter but Tigers got nothing else as a 23-11 deficit became a 66-43 hole by the end of the third.Sadé Clarke added 19 points and Antonia Baptiste ten, while Alleyne and Irecka Louis both finished with 15 points for Tigers.Clapham open their third straight finals against the reigning nine-time champion Cavs tonight at the YMCA at 8 p.m. (JM)
