UWI make it to 265 for 7

SPEARHEADED by a sublime 70 from opener Omar Phillips and supported by a solid 61 by Raymon Reifer, Sagicor UWI reached 265 for seven against Super Centre Spartan. Phillips struck five sixes off the spinners before he brought up his 50 which came off 64 balls along with three fours.Seamer Andre Gill, after picking up Miles Bascombe in his first spell, returned for his second with UWI in command at 91 for one. Gill induced Phillips to drive a slower ball to cover to be caught for 70 after a second wicket stand of 81 with Romel Currency who contributed 17. One ballNext in was the ever-green Floyd Reifer but he only lasted one ball as he chased a ball wide of off-stump, only to be superbly caught in the gully area by Maradon Bend, diving low to his left.UWI were next rescued by a 52-run partnership between Romel Currency (41) and Raymon Reifer (61) for the fourth wicket after being 91 for three. Currency batted cautiously throughout his 136-ball innings before it took the arrival of Gill for his third spell to hit his  off stump.
