TWO modernised custom-built ambulances worth nearly $400 000 have arrived from Turin, Italy, to boost the fleet at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
An inside source at the QEH says the Ducato Fiat ambulances now being housed at Courtesy Garage are each worth $195 000.
The ambulances will be outfitted with stretchers that are collapsible and will have more room for paramedics.
The ambulances should be on the road in a few days and will bring the active fleet to five. (MK)
