Trimart stores still to reopen

TRIMART Supermarkets, which were closed by bailiffs last Friday, are still locked down.
Representative of the supermarkets and those for property owners NSR Limited remained tight-lipped yesterday after continued discussions over the future of the supermarkets.
It has become a stand-off as the district auctioneer, who is acting on behalf of the receivers, can’t sell the goods, and Trimart doesn’t have the goods, so it is in no position to sell.
PricewaterhouseCoopers partner and joint receiver of NSR Limited, Christopher Sambrano, said last week the action taken to close Trimart’s Haggatt Hall and Bridge Street supermarkets was as a result of debts totalling over $1.2 million. (MK)
