Chains of globalisation

I AM FASCINATED that it should matter more to St Lucians that the Pitons become “listed” as a World Heritage Site (as if it is not already), than that St Lucians themselves should fully appreciate the treasure for its intrinsic worth and carefully observe existing conservation laws for this gift of nature.

I continue to wonder why we wax lyrical and salivate at every buzz about globalisation that emanates from the hive of lobbies in the developed world and consider imitation a more fitting aspiration than the inspiration to preserve or to create.
