Rules and guidelines for school uniforms

Rules and Guidelines to be enforced in all secondary schools effective September 2008The hems of junior girls’ overalls MUST be two inches or 5 cm below the knee and the overalls MUST not be tight. Senior girls’ skirts MUST be worn at the waist, MUST extend at least two inches or 5cm  below the knee and must not be tight.Female students MUST wear plan white socks reaching 2 inches or 5 cm above the ankle.
In schools where junior boys wear long songs, they must be worn mid-calf.All male students MUST wear their pants/trousers at the waist, they cannot be oversized or baggy or tight around the ankle. The pants must be worn with a plain leather or synthetic leather belt with an ordinary buckle head.All students MUST wear leather or synthetic leather shoes with laces. The wearing of sneakers, boots, high cuts shoes, pumps and soft wear is prohibited.Hairstyles worn by students MUST be simple, tidy, neat and unobstrusive (must not block the view of other students during lessons).Only female students are allowed to wear earrings to school. Only female students are allowed to wear earrings to school. Only one (1) pair is permitted and it MUST be worn in the lobe (the lower part of the ear). Rings in the cheeks, eyelids, nostrils, lip or tongue will not be allowed.Scarves are not allowed in school.The wearing of tattoos by students is prohibited.The wearing of nail polish, make up including lipstick and eye shadow is not allowed. Where ties and epaulettes, crests and badges are required they must be worn for the duration of the school day while travelling to and from school and while attending official school functions.
Male students MUST always wear their shirts neatly tucked into their pants and female students MUST have their blouses, which MUST not be tight, neatly inside their skirts at all times.
