I HAVE PERSONALLY BEEN INSPIRED by the legacy and commitment of our late Prime Minister to public service.
He truly epitomized the famous quote of John F. Kennedy that states: “Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.”
I express heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of the late Prime Minister and, of course, to my fellow Barbadians.
May we all be inspired to serve our nation in whatever capacity we have been gifted, with as much dignity, passion, humility, love and concern as did our late Prime Minister.
I mourn with my beloved nation, and though I regret not being physically present on the island during this time of national mourning, be assured, fellow Barbadians, that my prayers and thoughts are with you.
