Garden Land, St Michael residents woke up to the sound of a crashing tamarind tree which caused damage to a nearby house and minor injury to one of its occupants.
This occurred just after 6:30 this morning when Tropical Storm Tomas passed over Barbados dumping heavy rains and strong gusty winds all across the island.
They were just some of the people across the island who felt the fury of Tomas as it brushed Barbados.
Last night Barbados was on a hurricane warning with officials expecting it to strengthen.
